What is UMANG?
“Umang – Light of Hope”
Two day Dance Festival was created in 2010 by Enakshi Sinha in Windsor to make the city culturally diverse and represent the South Asian community. It was created so the Windsor community did not have to travel far to witness the magic of Indian classical dance and music. Proclaimed artists from India, the United States and Canada were invited to perform.  It is funded by the Ontario Arts Council and supported by the Arts Council of Windsor, South Asian Centre of Windsor, Indo-Canada Association the University of Windsor. “Umang” took place in Windsor from 2010-2018 but has moved to the Greater Toronto Area since 2019.
